Boranup Forest Retreat offers two types of services: 1) Mental Health Optimisation Retreats: For those experiencing sub-optimal functioning. Mental health services can be delivered on an intensive basis where you can receive focused attention with up to 4 hours of counselling support per day.
The approach at the retreat encompasses the principles of combining counselling with exercise and activity that is somewhat different from typical office-based settings.
We have a normal consultation room and a yoga/mediation studio, however, (weather dependent) we prefer to access our amazing local environments to enhance the benefits of the retreats.
Health tourism is a growing industry throughout the world and our part of the Margaret River region is surrounded by world-class forests and hiking/walk trails, with amazing beaches and the Blackwood River all within 10 minutes drive from BFR.
There is no reason you can’t combine a short holiday with a mental health retreat to address the difficulties you may be experiencing.
Mental health retreats can be tailored to your situation working with individuals, couples in relationships in addition to families.
Intensive focus is the key to our model of assistance. Traditional counselling attending weekly appointments can be quite drawn out and less effective than a more intensive model.
This may not suit everyone, however, sometimes our lifestyle, work commitments or other family issues make it difficult to adequately address psychological barriers in single weekly appointments.
At Boranup Forest Retreat, isolating yourself in our environment and intensively addressing issues is the preferred method in the approach.
The longer we suffer suboptimal functioning, the greater the potential negative impacts are on our health.
At Boranup Forest Retreat we believe the progress gain in focusing on issues intensively is a more effective model for the restoration of mental and physical health.
Our daily programs begin with exercise and yoga transitioning into counselling after breakfast.
Flexibility is given to design a timetable that suits your needs so that you can undertake whatever tourist activities you may wish to engage in whilst staying at the retreat.
We offer professional massage therapy at affordable rates to enhance the benefits of our treatments.
Costs of retreats can be negotiated and discussed in person but the general costs are low and affordable to enhance access to our new business and in recovering from the COVID 19 crisis.
We still adhere to isolation and distancing requirements as part of our retreats.
2)Health and Wellness Retreats: For those wanting to enhance their health and wellness. Health and wellness retreats for those wanting to access a fantastic facility for hiking/walking, mountain biking, yoga, mediation, sound healing, massage and healthy food.
It is the goal at the retreat to encourage meeting like-minded people who enjoy a lifestyle focused on health.
The combination of good food, great people and activities that promote health is the desired outcome of attending retreats here.
The manager is an avid ping pong player and discounts on accommodation are offered to anyone that can beat him.
Catering can be provided or self-catering is a flexible and negotiable option.
